Here’s a new song. It meets at the intersection of yacht rock avenue and hillbilly rap street, Or maybe not. But it was a lot of fun doing it. I used five vocal tracks, two guitar tracks, a bongo track, and a keyboard track. The rest is all thanks to Apple Loops. And I wrote the damn thing too. August 15, 2024. 10cc played the United Theater On Broadway. I have liked them a lot (for decades now) but finally got a chance to see them. They played an excellent show in a beautiful venue.

This is our annual trip to Seattle to see the city and also for the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival. We’ve gone every year from 2001-2019 and now again in 2023 and 2024. Also going this year was our granddaughter Jasmine, and we also met up with our friend Margaret from Portland.
I’ll post some pictures soon, but first, here’s what we did on our trip.
Monday August 26th
I wrote and recorded a song that is “very loosely” inspired by the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy books. (link below, click the orange and white arrow). Mainly it refers to the ultimate answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. Spoiler alert, the ultimate answer is 42. I took a few liberties. OK, maybe more than a few.

Tuesday August 29th
July 11, 2023. Neil did a small tour of the left coast, promising to play a lot of rare and deep tracks, with few hits. Yes, he did Like A Hurricane but it was on the pump organ. Yes, there was Heart Of Gold but it was solo. There was a touch of Buffalo Springfield too. And yes, Four Strong Winds was folky as usual, but most of the rest of the set was more obscure.
