Art, Cats, In The ZoneIt is actually two days in the life, but who’s counting?

It started Saturday the 16th with the First Annual Elk Grove Artists Open Home Studio Tour. We got a bit of a late start and only had time for three or so stops. However, each stop had multiple artists showing their work. And just in thos stops we saw African tile art and dolls, various types of painting, fused glass, beading, and more. We ran out of time because [more after the jump]

Petra was due at a cooking class, learning about Indian Chaat food. After she finished with that, it was time for us to head to the Sacramento Rivercats baseball game. It was a good game, and the Cats won. Afterwards there was a pretty impressive fireworks show too.

The next day (Sunday) was the “Day In The Zone” concert at Gibson Ranch Park. The featured artists were Daughtry (pretty good), Lifehouse (not bad), Tristan Prettyman (ok, entertaining), Ace Young (better than I expected), and Method Echo (ok). It was great weather and there was plenty of shade. It was a nice event and we both enjoyed it more than we expected to. If you went (or have an opinion), let me know in the comments.

Only one thing to do after all that two days of fun. Yep, you guessed it. A visit to 524 Mexican Food on Northgate. Mmmm. Oh, and yes I did have a beer for you!
