The 2012 Baseball Trip Pictures Are Now Online

2012 Baseball Trip Collage

As I blogged recently, I took a baseball trip with some friends, Larry, John, and Mike. You can read all about it here. But now it’s time to show and tell, so here are some pictures from the trip. As usual I didn’t take pictures of everything but I think you will get the idea. I’ve included my pictures, and also some taken by my friends Larry and John.

And to see the collage on the right at a bigger size, just click on it.

I Took A Baseball Trip – 2012

Baseball stadiumI took a baseball trip. And I’ll post some pictures soon. But yeah, I took a baseball trip.

What is that you say? Well, three of my friends (Larry, John Mc, and Mike D) have taken a few of these trips. They travel to a region of the country and see pro baseball games at a few different stadiums. They’ve asked me about going before and I didn’t go, but this time I decided, for various reasons, to go. For one thing, the trip was to Southern California so it wasn’t that far. In fact, we drove and made it a road trip.

Friday May 4

John got the rental car and picked up Mike and me, then we started south and picked up Larry in nearby Elk Grove. We had breakfast at an unremarkable place and then got on the road. Partway there we stopped at Anita’s Mexican Grill for lunch. As you may know,

A Day In The Life – Take 7

OK, it’s not really a day. It’s the last week or so. But it’s time to catch up a little bit on what the heck stevenology has been doing!

Well, to start off, I’m full and happy after a lunch at Curry Corner. It’s a great Indian Food lunch buffet here in the Natomas area. All you can eat and all gooooood.

Last night we saw an advance screening of a new movie, City Island (web site, more info, even more info). It’s a very funny comedy with heart. We were laughing out loud and so was everyone else in the theater. Great writing, brisk pace, and funny! Go see it!

And let’s be sure to add some April birthday wishes for my sister Steph, my ex-sister-in-law Connie, and our friend Jared (the big 30).

And talking about Jared, he just started up a food-related blog over at JaredEatsWorld. Go visit and tell him stevenology sent you!

Last Friday night we went to see the Sacramento Rivercats baseball game. It was fun, always is, but they lost. They choked at the end. Oh well, you can’t win them all.

OK, faithful readers, what do you think of all THAT?

Petra Runs, Charity Wins!

pb_run2She did it! My wife Petra ran in the 5k Race For The Arts tonight. And she did great! She even cut a few minutes off her expected time.

There’s more info about her and why she ran the race in my blog post the other day. Check it out. But the important thing is that she set a goal and then accomplished it. And in the meantime, she made a bunch of money for her chosen art charity.

Way to go, Petra. We’re hecka proud of you!

and it’s not too late if you want to make a donation   😉

Help Petra B Help The Arts

My wife and partner Petra B is running in the 5k Race For The Arts later this month. How about supporting her and helping a great charity at the same time? All donations to sponsor her will go to the Women’s Wisdom Project, an art program of Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.

If you would like to donate make checks payable to “Race for the Arts” and send to Petra B. Wynbrandt, P.O. Box 340564, Sacramento, CA 95834-0564.

The Kings Can Only Get Better

Update 4/23 – Today the Kings got rid of their head coach and most of their coaching staff. The search for a new coach begins again. I hope they get an experienced coach this time, and one that has coached a winning NBA team. The time for taking a chance on a coach is over.

I’m not a huge sports fan but I do like to watch basketball. We have season tickets to the Sacramento Kings. OK, you can quit smirking now. I know they just finished the season with the worst record in the NBA. And the worst record for a Kings team ever. That’s why they can only get better!

We like going to quite a few games and usually sell some of the tickets too. But we were seriously considering not renewing our tickets for the next year (2009-10). After thinking it over, we decided to renew after all, based on a ticket price reduction (for season ticket holders only) as well as some extra benefits and perks that they’ve thrown in. The team is rebuilding and I do think they will improve. There will be one or more new players via draft picks soon, maybe even some impact players. And you never know what kind of trade they might cook up.

So, let’s see what happens. We’re sticking with the team and they could use the support. They stunk up the joint have plenty of room for improvement, sure, but I think there is some reason to be hopeful. At least I hope 😉

And if you are looking for some game tickets for next season, let us know. Ours will be cheaper than the box office price!!

So leave me a comment below, maybe it will help them win…

A Day In The Life – Take 4

Remember my old blog, stevenology 1.0 (aka stevenology classic)? I used to detail the day to day doings of my boring life. And a few people even liked it! But it was a nightmare to try to keep up and frankly it was too wild and exciting for readers with a weak heart. I had to stop out of fear for their very health.

But just in case you want to know or comment, here are some things I did in the last week or so:

Today we had a great all-you-can-eat Indian food buffet lunch at Pooja in West Sacramento. Man, it was really good, go there! The we went to friend Jared‘s new house near there. He and his girlfriend Ashleigh just bought it and it is very nice, it should be a great place for them.

A Day In The Life – Take 3

Art, Cats, In The ZoneIt is actually two days in the life, but who’s counting?

It started Saturday the 16th with the First Annual Elk Grove Artists Open Home Studio Tour. We got a bit of a late start and only had time for three or so stops. However, each stop had multiple artists showing their work. And just in thos stops we saw African tile art and dolls, various types of painting, fused glass, beading, and more. We ran out of time because [more after the jump]
